“The Visco is a 54′ Bertram”.
The newest addition to the Key Largo Charter Boat fleet, Visco is without a doubt one of the finest fishing charter boats in the Florida Keys. Many steps above the competition, with its amenities, classic style, smooth, comfortable ride, spacious cabin, cockpit and flybridge, and experienced, very friendly crew, friends and families will remember their trip on “Visco” for the rest of their lives.
Captain and owner John Kuluz has been fishing South Florida waters for 30 years. “I started out with a 16 ft skiff that leaked like a sieve, and have been getting progressively bigger and better boats since then. Visco is my final upgrade. I wanted a vessel to be proud of, and one my friends and I could go out in in ANY kind of weather and, importantly, be comfortable, and return safely. Offshore and Deep Sea Fishing Charters
on “Visco” is an experience of a lifetime. Patrolling the depths off of Key Largo can be the most rewarding adventure for any angler. The deep sea waters of Key Largo are rich in game fish. Many of the most challenging game fish travel through these waters on their migrations.
Many types of Marlin can be caught throughout the year. Sailfish are a year-round catch in Key Largo with large populations visiting for the winter months.
Dolphin, also known as “Mahi Mahi” are also year-round residents. However, Spring and early Summer months are when large schools show up. In with the large schools are also the larger ‘Slammer’ Dolphin. Dolphin are our most popular quarry, as they are both great fighting fish and delicious.
Reef and Wreck Fishing Charters
Exciting action can be found on the beautiful Key Largo Reefs. Grouper, Snapper, Yellowtail, Mutton Snapper, Hogfish and more make for a fun fishing charter and a wonderful dinner! Wreck fishing is where you’ll find Amber Jacks, Shark, Barracuda and huge grouper. Weather you are an experienced fisherperson, or a novice, our skilled crew will give you all the help and guidance to make for a fun fishing trip!
The Bertram Story
Richard Bertram introduced the original 54 Convertible in 1981 and went on to build 177 hulls before production ended in 1992. The 54 is one of Bertram’s most iconic and admired models. Visco is one of the first launched out of this line of thoroughbred sportfishing yachts, and has been regularly updated over its 41-year lifespan. Its twin repowered Mann 1200 hp diesels cruise at 22 knots and top out in the low 30s. Visco’s huge cockpit (17 ft beam) features a freezer, tackle center with washdown sink, 2 live wells, BBG grill, transom door with gate, and engine room access. The proven deep-V hull of the original is widely considered among the best open-water rides in the business. Below decks, the three-stateroom maple interior of the Bertram 54 features an open-plan salon with beautiful teak and holly flooring and a leather L-lounge seating to port and entertainment center to starboard. A full-service galley with Corian counters is forward to port, across from a 4-person dinette. All three heads have separate stall showers.
“Bertram builds saltwater sport-fishing boats, and that means they focus on fishability, ride, speed and comfort. Our customers go to sea often enough that they are sometimes going to get caught in rough sea conditions; the Bertram 54 is a boat that will bring them home safely.” – Marlin magazine
